The consciousness that we exert in our own homes and living spaces is passed on to our children, and the choices that we make define what will surround them and what they will see as normal.
Here, an empty pair of shoes, those of V’s four-year-old daughter remind us that consciousness, like air and water is something that we cannot claim as our own, it is inherited, shared and endowed to future generations. The child’s stance, observing the same space as the mother, asks a question that we can only answer with our labours of love and awareness of the gifts of life and consciousness.
